Participant Feedback

In Their Own Words

"Before the Personal Finance Foundations program, I was managing my money reactively — paying bills, spending what was left, and hoping for the best. The budgeting session was the one that clicked for me. I built a framework during class and I've been using a version of it ever since. It's a simple thing, but it changed how I think about money each month."

"The Investment Literacy Workshop was well-suited to where I was. I had some money set aside and didn't know what to do with it — I wasn't looking for someone to invest it for me, I wanted to actually understand what my options were. The case studies made abstract concepts real. The simulated portfolio exercise was particularly useful. I came out of it with a much clearer head."

"I enrolled in the Retirement planning service at 48, which I suppose is later than ideal, but Kanya and the team made me feel like it wasn't too late to get things in order. The projection report was eye-opening — not in a frightening way, but in the sense that I finally had a map. The 60-day follow-up was a feature I hadn't fully appreciated until I actually used it."

"What stood out was that nobody was trying to sell me anything. I've been to bank seminars that felt like they were two hours of setup for a product pitch. At Nexoraq, the sessions were just about learning — the facilitator was patient with questions and didn't seem bothered by the ones that slowed things down. I left the foundations program feeling genuinely more capable, not just more aware."

"The group size kept it from being a lecture. There were six of us in my Investment workshop session, which meant there was time to go down tangents that were actually relevant to specific people in the room. That flexibility made a big difference. A couple of the case studies were particularly relevant to the Thai market, which I appreciated."

"I work long hours and my finances had just drifted. The Foundations program helped me get structure around something I'd been avoiding for two years. The one-on-one check-in was the session I hadn't expected to find valuable, but talking through my actual numbers with someone who wasn't trying to sell me something was quite different from anything I'd done before."

Participant Journeys

Three People, Three Situations

From Reactive Spending to Monthly Structure

Personal Finance Foundations · 6 sessions

The Situation

A 31-year-old marketing professional in Bangkok with a stable income but no clear budget. Money was leaving accounts without a clear understanding of where. Debt from two credit cards had grown slowly over three years.

What Changed

Built a working monthly budget during the program. Identified three spending categories that were significantly over-allocated. Established a structured debt repayment plan targeting the higher-interest card first.

Three Months Later

Budget maintained across all three months. First card balance reduced by 28%. Emergency fund started — small amount, but functional. Described the shift as knowing where things are going rather than wondering what happened.

Building Confidence Before a First Investment

Investment Literacy Workshop · 4 sessions

The Situation

A 35-year-old engineer with ฿400,000 in savings that had been sitting in a standard deposit account for two years. Interested in investing but uncertain about where to start and wary of being misled.

What Changed

Gained working knowledge of equity funds, bond funds, and their risk characteristics. Completed a simulated portfolio exercise aligned to a moderate risk profile. Learned how to evaluate fund options using available public data.

Outcome

Made a first investment in two Thai mutual funds within six weeks of the workshop — a decision made independently, using criteria developed during the program. Described the experience as finally feeling like it was a considered choice, not a guess.

Mapping Out a Retirement Timeline at 50

Retirement & Long-Term Planning · 3 sessions + 60-day follow-up

The Situation

A 50-year-old business owner with varied income, a mix of assets, and no formal retirement plan. Knew action was needed but had been deferring for years, partly due to complexity and partly due to not knowing where to start.

What Changed

Received a customised income projection model and worked through two retirement income scenarios. Explored RMF and LTF options available in Thailand. Discussed estate planning basics and how to approach consolidating scattered assets.

60-Day Follow-Up

By the follow-up session, had opened an RMF account and begun consolidating two savings accounts. Plan revised to reflect actual progress. Described having a written plan as the single most useful outcome — something to refer back to rather than carry in one's head.
